Category:Media files on Wikimedia Commons

This category is for images and other media files that are on Wikimedia Commons and should be deleted locally. However, flies like election maps should not be deleted because they are uploaded locally for a reason.

To move a media file to Commons, the best way is to use the Move-to-commons assistant to ensure the image description page created meets the requirements. To add a file to this category, use {{nowcommons}}.

Notes for admins: When deleting files in this category, if the file on Commons is under a different name, remember to change the links where the file is used on Wikinews. This is particularly important since editors might not be able to do this because the pages are protected.
