Good news everyone!
I was just thinking to myself, "I wonder when we shall see another of David Shankbone's excellent interviews", and now he's back... and he brought BILLY WEST!!!
It's like my birthday! -220.127.116.11 18:46, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. My personal favorite in this interview is actually the audio file that I uploaded (my first). --David Shankbone - (talk) 21:11, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Speaking of audio..
My guess is that you conduct these interviews verbally, record them, and transcribe them afterward. If this is the case, would you consider posting the audio version as well? I think that would most certainly enhance the wikinews experience if this was done in general -- especially in an interview with Billy West! -Etafly - (talk) 01:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with posting audio, but to be honest, there are parts that I've agreed are 'Off the record' but are on the digital recording. My life is somewhat hectic, and I haven't had the time to invest in learning software to edit. Eventually, 99% of my audio files will be uploaded. --David Shankbone - (talk) 15:24, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Wow, this was really interesting. I've always appreciated Billy's work as a voice actor, but I never really knew anything about him. This interview has revealed a lot about my favorite voice actor and has significantly increased my respect for him.
Wow can't you like shorten the title up? That's a mouthful lol
Billy West
I respected Billy West for the characters he brought to life on Futurama already, and slowly started hearing him more here and there(M&M's, and the classic Ren and Stimpy) And now I can see how crappy a business voice actors have to wade through, but I think things will be looking up considering the nature of films and how popular animation is finally becoming.
Anywho, cheers to the real characters behind the drawings, cells, and 3D renderings.... Mel Blanc started it all as far as my kid-hood, but the whole Simpson voice talent crew, some of the best moving to Futurama (Mcneille, LeMarche, misspelled, etc...) Keep up the good freakin work, and "with my last breath, I BLAME ZOIDBERG!!!" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 18.104.22.168 (talk) 02:35, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Very interesting interview about a hugely underrated talent. The quote ..."want to keep dancing in the pet cemetery with animal corpses" is one of the coolest analogies I've heard in my 48 yrs of life. Billy, you rock. —22.214.171.124 (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Reading the article, I thought,
"Ouch. Poor Billy. I never really knew that he suffered so much as a child. I can almost imagine him doing voices to escape his torture chamber of a home. His dad ruined his life right up until he was 37!" But I admire you, Billy, the way you changed yourself for the better, became a better man and the voice acting legend you are today! You are one of my heroes, William Richard West.

Fantastic, insightful, mind-blowing. Epic. Thank you for showing and asking for more than just the facts about what the man can do. Thank you so much for going deeper than just "Can you do the voice?"... This truly was a testament to the depth of an artist and who he is. He is... Just and incredible person. And so are you. THANK YOU for this brilliant, deep, shaking interview!!!!!! ...!!!!.... —126.96.36.199 (talk) 10:26, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
