Comments from feedback form - "Someone needs to get their fac..."

Someone needs to get their facts right! Moyles is far from homophobic the quote in the article is taken totally out of context.

Hm. Facts are, indeed, slippery things. This Wikinews article reports that the Guardian quoted him as saying "Yeah, I'm homophobic, I don't like the gays. Sorry, it just does my head in." Supposing the Guardian did quote him as saying that, and supposing he did say it,

  • What sense of the meaning of his comment is suggested by the excerpt we provide? I'm not sure what it means; the first half could be sarcasm, and the second half leaves that possibility present but ambiguous. Possibly the ambiguity is the point.
  • Is that sense of the meaning different from the sense suggested by what he said when taken in its original context?
  • Is it different from the sense suggested by what he said in the context of the Guardian's quoting of it?
