How do we know this event was not somehow staged? How authentic is this? What is going on between Iran and the US? Would something like this give the necessary negative publicity towards Iran that the US needs in order to do something? "Oh look at what Iran is trying to do! We should totally get in there and do something!"

Misinformation[edit]

After the misinformation provided by the White House, concerning the threat of "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq (which were never found), it is hard to believe this story. Without an unbiased and corroborated report of this incident, by sources other than the Pentagon, the truth of the matter is obscure.

You call that a ship?[edit]

I'm not sure what the fuss is about, the Iranian "boat" was no threat to the American ship. The US seems to make a lot of noise out of nothing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.172.100.122 (talk) 00:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

but rember "small and crazy, beats big every time"! Sounds like the iranians where either
a) Stupid and misread the radar and didn't realise it was an army ship ( sounds unlikely but its just the reverse of the Americans shooting down a civilian airliner in the gulf war (part 1)).
b) The Americans looked like they were heading into iranian waters (to drop spies off or w/e) and the iranians did something to stop it.
c) Some Iranian ship was board and thought it would mess with the Americans.
or its a combination of the 3, they didn't realize then they thought "hey, what are they doing there anyway?", "meh lets mess with them!"

HOAX[edit]

I think it was a hoax...just another cover to go in and take over another Oil Nation —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.144.74.177 (talk) 03:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Liberals[edit]

I love how Liberals are quick to defend a nation that support Terrorist in Iraq who are killing our troops. Who give weapons to Hezbollah to fight Israel. That wants to wipe out Israel off the face of the earth and that there official stance. But i guess not defending America is a new thing to do this days. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.35.146 (talk) 16:44, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ignorant and assuming[edit]

I love how 'unsigned' is quick to type without thinking. America has been supporting internationally recognized terrorists for years. So you lose on that point.

"who give weapons to Hezbollah to fight Israel." that's right, cause America has never givin weapons to anyone.

"But i guess not defending America . . " You don't even make sense here. They were supposed to have been in international waters (that itself could be wrong as well). Either way, they were in the Persian Gulf. How is that ANYWHERE near America? Did you absolutely FAIL at geography? Looks like you did. the above post has both ignorance of geopolitics and plain olde hypocrite, all over it Greenknight 17:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on messing up that post and turning into something else. I was not stating geography. I was saying; Good job siding with your country but instead you want to stand behind a nation that has public executions and support people that brain wash there own children to blow them selfs up. But hey good job on the spelling givin (it given, sarcasm") —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.35.146 (talk) 20:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
