I love how this mother blames him for all her problems. But wait who let their 15 year old daughter go to a motel? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.250.105.134 (talkcontribs)

Who said the mother let her daughter go to a motel? There's no evidence she was aware. You may say that was her fault, but her daughter was 15 years old so it's resonable for her to have some trust. Perhaps that trust was misplaced but surely the mother has a resonable expectation that other people, especially 61 year old men would act responsibly or at least follow the law and not go around screwing their underage daughter. Note that although I mention the sex of the participants, I'm not saying it makes any difference what their sex is. Fact is, the same expectations should be held of a 61 year old woman as well Nil Einne (talk) 17:39, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds to me like the girl knew what she was doing and couldn't care less. --219.75.241.48 04:57, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. And of course, the man takes the fall for it. Funny old world, ain't it? --96.252.61.169 17:40, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The girl (in this case) was 15 which under Australia law is below the age of consent. The guy (in this case) was 61 and was apparently aware of the age of the girl before he had sex of with her and choose to do it anyway. The girl may or may not have known what she was doing but regardless, the guy clearly did and as an adult, heck almost a senior citizen, he should have acted like one. The fact that the girl may have acted immaturely doesn't excuse the 61 year old guy from doing so. This is not like one of those cases when it's perhaps questionable if the guy knew the age of the girl since from the article, it appears he did. Nor is it a perfectly innocent relationship between two people of similar ages, there was a 45+ year age gap. Nil Einne (talk) 17:36, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
