Good. And I find it funny how all the Muslims countries are red on the map.--66.229.11.230 03:11, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good, but...[edit]

The declaration condemns violence, harassment, discrimination, exclusion, stigmatization, and prejudice based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Why not just condemn violence, harassment, discrimination, exclusion, stigmatization, and prejudice? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anunnakki (talkcontribs) 05:46, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That wouldn't leave enough of a loophole to justify discrimination against other classes of people who aren't as numerous or as well-percieved by the general public. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.74.141.43 (talk) 06:09, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good but....[edit]

The declaration is good to me, but what's frustrating is the message the US' record on gay rights show.

What good is a declaration against discrimination when gays can't get married in most states or can't adopt kids in others? What message does America send to gays when it's president is speaking out for gay rights, while it's people have been chipping away at gay rights with each election? What good is a declaration against discrimination against gays in a country where so many people see gays as worthy of discrimination?

I want gay rights, but not in a backhanded manner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.5.67.194 (talk) 06:35, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Our gay rights record is at least better then the Iranians (public hanging for a person sexual orientation is horrible).--66.229.11.230 07:27, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know a friend who was scared for life because he was adopted by gay parents, one sexually assaulted him!--CnrFallon (talk) 00:47, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
and i have a friend who was molested by one of her heterosexual parents. ZOMG! stop heterosexuals from being parents!! - Imind (talk) 16:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Gays make horrible parents. I'm all against gay marriage and adoption. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.232.53.207 (talk) 04:17, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
and you're an idiot. i'm all against you being allowed to reproduce, lol - Imind (talk) 16:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
while molesting little children is unexcusable, it does not mean that all gay people are bad parents, i work at a daycare and i am bisexual, so unless you have solid evidence to support your claim, then good day to you sir.--weirdjrc (talk) 15:54, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm...[edit]

Why would anyone be against this? The rights seem pretty basic. I mean, I can understand how some people may have their reservations on marriage and/or other things of the like; but imprisonment, torture, execution, et cetera? Really?! I think this marks a brilliant change for the US. -- Poe Joe (talk) 18:13, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ignorance is bliss, or so they say, ignorace leads to misunderstanding, which then in turn leads to predjudes, which always leads to hate. thats all their is to it.--weirdjrc (talk) 15:54, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where do we see God standing[edit]

Humans have done some of the most dispeakable things just trying to please their self longings, I know all beings on earth iregardless of their religion beliefes, know of the name GOD and they know HE exists. Now if we acknowledge His existence, but fail to see the reason we were created; our lives will for sure become meaningless and thus we loose our ways and start to see the wrong as right, how many bills have been passed for things we knew were wrong and we never said or done nothing about, In african history i know not of an incident that made it right for people of the same sex regarded as a couple, the changing of technology and power does not necessarily mean our culture is to change as well. Experiments are to be done in labs not in our everyday lives, the important things are not a high priority on the table of the decision makers, but they rush to approve of who sleeps with who, who is equal to who, the world is bieng destroyed by war, corruption and they wait for a multitude to die before they take a stand. Fuck all the so called G8 for all they do is stretch the muscle of the might they have and not use when it is required for them. they are just as selfish as the homo's are. Think of your destiny not your selfish desire. you corrupt the minds of our young, We need Men in the world not men who think they are women, if that is so there can never be equilibrium. Why choose to have Women standing in Men's places when the men coward out of their positions because of their selfishness.

You can judge me, i hate hypocrites and all they represent. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tenderlivity (talkcontribs) 09:52, 9 July 2009‎

Wow...[edit]

I didn't realise there was ever even a suggestion that people shouldn't have human rights because of their sexuality. By definition, human rights are rights that should be allowed to all humans (for those of you that haven't already guessed, homosexuals and bisexuals and asexuals, and all other '-sexuals', are all humans). I've just read a very spiteful Christian view on the matter which shocked me (as these views always do). I find it hard to understand how when Jesus taught us to love everyone, and he meant absolutely everyone (one of his best friends was a prostitute (just saying...)), Christians still find ways to invent excuses for hating good people! But thats not really what this is about... I think that a country as developed as the USA should have already signed this bill! In fact, I'm shock by quite how behind America's social development is. I would also like to remind the good people of the internet that GOD is not a politician and shouldn't control the government (then we'd have to ban seafood and mixed fibre clothes! That would be awful!)
