Hey, the page has'nt been edited since August, so i've updated it with more recent stories. I've also taken the chance to be bold - the wiki thing to do - and formated the major events section to read more like the frontpage - i.e. a lead article. I've also added a photo (relevent to the US Trade deficiet story) to add some visiual appeal to the page - something it lacked. I'm sure someone will come along and change the whole thing again, but thats what wiki's about! If no one does do so, i'll continue to update the page, and maybe even do the same with other topic pages! CGorman 22:19, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)

On a seperate note - how about a final close section for world markets, currencies etc.? Like the weather on the main page. I'll investigate it a bit, all suggestions are welcome. CGorman 22:19, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Personal Triumph![edit]

This morning after an RTE (the national tv station) story and a press release about Yahoo's investment in Dublin, I wrote Yahoo chooses Dublin as location of new European Headquarters - at the time the article went live on Wikinews - only 3 other places on the net carried the story - two being press releases, the other RTE. This evening there are literally dozens of stories about the move - in Australia, the UK, the US, on reuters, all over the place - it feels great to actually be first - to break the story! Commodities[edit]

Where ? (market).

Add VIX, in lower section with stock markets and oil prices.

User:MarketDataBot broken[edit]

Unfortunately I do not know how to fix the bot, but I guess it is more complicated. See Talk:Market Data.

Insert News manually[edit]

Do we have to insert the values manually then? Its been like since March since the indices have been updated. I personally wouldnt mind, but it would mean getting rid of the bot.--Xlegiofalco 23:53, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

NYSE and Nasdaq[edit]

I was wondering why these and other major stock exchanges dont have a category which can be added to article on companies listed on them and for articles about the exchanges themselves. These would be a useful way to categorise articles. Gnangarra (talk) 13:49, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
