Date of Dimansi site archaelogical work[edit]

The wikipedia article on Dimansi lists 1936 as the date archaelogical work began at the site, but the AP article lists the date as 1939. I have thus sided with Wikipedia and included a link to their article. Theshibboleth 07:26, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not European[edit]

From the article:

the oldest such skull to be found in Europe

The skull was found south of the caucasus montains, so it's definitely outside w:Europe.

I too was initially somewhat unsure of Georgia's European status. The AP article notes that that Georgia is considered to be part of Europe. Of course this gets into the discussion of to what extent Europe is truly seperate from the Eurasian supercontinent, and whether the distinction is entirely cultural. I'm not sure you can say to any certainty one way or the other, but perhaps some sort of consensus will form here. Theshibboleth 00:06, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
