According to the CBC, Pope John Paul II was the first non-Italian pope since the 15th century, not the first non-Italian pope ever, as Tutu stated. - McCart42 18:18, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I was just quoting it as he said it. Im aware that he was'nt the first non-italian Pop. You could proably remove the Additionally as the first African Pope is dealt with later in the article. → CGorman (Talk) 18:54, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
