I've got all the formatting ready, everyone's allowed to edit this, I don't plan to add much more content. - Kookykman|(talk) 21:15, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Headline[edit]

I don't like the new article title much - it doesn't read well, if indeed it is even English.--AYArktos 23:43, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure it means something to, well whatever sport its about, but it isn't very clear. however I havn't read the article yet so I have no better suggestions. Bawolff ☺☻ 00:12, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's a sort of colloquial English which treats a collective noun as if it's plural. "Australia" is being treated as a plural because it contains plural elements (players). Not all speakers of Commonwealth English use collective nouns to refer to their elements, but the larger problem is that collective noun usage isn't consistent within the story. I'll re-write the headline to something similar to what Kookykman wrote originally and edit the story a bit. Karen 01:24, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I had planned that all the Group stage articles were to end "_________ in Group _". For consistent style reasons. Would "Australia draw with Croatia 2-2 and advance to next round in Group F" be okay? Ealturner 11:47, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Australia draws with Croatia 2-2, advances to next round in Group F? would avoid the plural "Australia" (draw and advance), which sounds awkward to some. It was one of the titles earlier. I'll change it for you and fix all links and redirects. Karen 19:32, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
