Curious[edit]

Does anyone besides David Shankbone do interviews, by the way? Contralya 19:01, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some people specialize in interviews, some just write from news. I have written a few great interviews, but I find that interviews take time and a lot of patience. I like to write one every so often, but they can be very stressful. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 20:42, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
category:Interview has a list of interviews. While a fairly significant portion are written by David Shankbone, especially recently, there are also interviews by others. For example, eloquence did "Avast ye scurvy file sharers!": Interview with Swedish Pirate Party leader Rickard Falkvinge which is one of my favourites. Bawolff 20:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And don't forget about Brian's interview with Tony Benn, who was featured in Michael Moore's film Sicko: Wikinews interviews: Tony Benn on U.K. politics. --David Shankbone 20:56, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And I've done two, one with Florence Devouard (chair of Wikimedia Board), and one with Sarah Feldman of the Sit Here project. Thunderhead - (talk - email - contributions) 21:19, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Featured in Sicko? What? We need to start really promoting our successes. To have a wide-release documentary quote us is unheard of, we should be promoting this beyond belief. Can anyone fill me in on the details of how the interview was used? Was it an on-screen pull-quote, or did it use the OGG sound file?
Anyway, on the main topic, I've done dozens of "passive interviews", essentially just a bulk interview tactic, sending the same questions to hundreds of people in an election. -- Zanimum 14:20, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Tony Benn was featured in Sicko, not the interview. --David Shankbone 14:27, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I had hoped to turn an interview with Tony Benn into a situation where I could ask for his comment on various stories. I may have a go at that again at some point in the future, but I think an issue that should be considered is asking people if we can email them later if we want their opinion on an event or story. The New Zealanders are probably the closest to organised on that front. --Brian McNeil / talk 14:58, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

After I posted a short request on David's page I'll do it here as well.

If anyone should create further work in this field, it would be absolutely great to have further images on BDSM related equipment and atmospheric photos of dungeons without any people on them. Most language versions of wikipedia, including :en, are in need of high quality images for the related articles. 91.12.192.130 09:19, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
