IP contributions on Wikipedia[edit]

POV[edit]

Title is very POV. Computerjoe (talk) 16:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

what does H1N1 and the recession have to do with this at all? --SVTCobra 16:52, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can I just get a chance to start this thing frist? I mean I could have added a dozen more tags to this and tucked it away even further into WN an STILL get complaints. I am not worried about the title at the moment. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 16:55, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
RE SVT: given the vast amount of important things going on in the country, the impression would be to say why would any of them find time to edit Wikipedia, let alone from the official internet gateways of the United States government? And besides, I am just writing it atm. feel free to do what you feel is necessary after I at least get a start on it for crying out loud lol. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 16:56, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
When isn't there something more important? Besides, they have time to worry about college football. --SVTCobra 12:39, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
HA. Yeah I saw that...too funny. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 15:52, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

E-mailing Steve Austria[edit]

I do not live in Ohio, so i am unable to e-mail him. Can someone call his office in DC for me? http://austria.house.gov/?sectionid=4&sectiontree=4 DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 18:07, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whilst I'm not volunteering, could you use Skype or something like that? Or fax him? Computerjoe (talk) 19:15, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Skype requires minutes, which i don't have. And I do not have access to a fax really. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 19:17, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A few free online gateways exist. Computerjoe (talk) 19:20, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I find a fax to be impersonal and unprofessional. But that's just me. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 19:59, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I came across an e-mail address here: http://www.steveaustriaforcongress.com/contact.php and sent an e-mail to it, which I sent to scoop. If they cannot answer questions, maybe they can send it to his offices? DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 00:11, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

EFF[edit]

Brianmc contacted the EFF and got a statement from them RE the FOIA. I sent the correspondence through scoop. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 21:05, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title (again)[edit]

I think it is obvious that the US Congress is not, as a legislative body, making "questionable and fraudulent edits to Wikipedia". Therefore, I suggest the title be changed to: "Questionable and fraudulent edits to Wikipedia continue to be made from US Congress IP adresses". The current title suggest that an entire branch of the US government is doing this. --SVTCobra 00:53, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, sounds like a good title. tempodivalse 00:58, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Review[edit]

"w"ikipedia[edit]

I notice a few instances of "wikipedia". Should this be "Wikipedia", since it's a proper noun (Name of a specific thing)? 76.117.247.55 03:31, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To be really nitpicky, it should be Wikipedia (italicised). --Brian McNeil / talk 06:20, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Contacting Austria for statement[edit]

Please see the part of the article that says, "Wikinews contacted Austria by e-mail for a statement, but so far there has been no response". This comes at the end of a paragraph about Deborah Pryce. Should the Austria sentence be moved to the relevant section, or were we really trying to contact him regarding Pryce? Thanks Wikidsoup (talk) 18:22, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Depression Quote[edit]

"which caused the depression", tacked on to the end of the Austria quote, should be changed to "and prolonged the depression". It's a misunderstanding of the meaning of the quote (which is too short).
