Verification of team list[edit]

from: Tony Naar Tony.Naar@ to: Laura Hale <laura@fanhistory.com> date: Thu, Nov 1, 2012 at 4:17 PM subject: RE: Colorado Skiing followup

Laura,

I have spoken to Steve Graham today and I have recommended you to him and asked him to give you whatever assistance he can. I hadn’t realised that it was going to be such a big undertaking for you!

Here is the squad list that has been provided to me:

Elite – Standing

Mitchell Gourley

Toby Kane

Cameron Rahles-Rahbula

Elite – VI

Melissa Perrine/Andrew Bor

Jessica Gallagher/Eric Bickerton

Development

Jono Walsh/Jono Wong

Mark Soyer

Lincoln Budge

Stuart Hume

Victoria Pendergast

Then there is Shannon Dallas! He isn’t officially on the PPP but I am about to do this and I am sure he will be back on. He will be with the development group for this northern hemisphere season.

Snowboard – again, not officially on the PPP but the boys we are licensing are:

Trent Milton

Matthew Robinson

Jason Sauer

Damien Thomlinson

What else can I do to help?

Regards,

TN

Paralympics[edit]

I had a conversation with Steve Graham on 9 October 2012 where we discussed which event the whole team would be at. We also discussed why people were going. Graham is the national team coach. He said the IPC Nor-Am Cup, which can be verified nominally at Alpine Canada. He said they were going to get experience and this is the start of the efforts to get 2014 Sochi Paralympic qualifications. I asked about other events and he mentioned the test event in Sochi. (This came up as I was looking at alternative, European based dates.) This event was the first major one of the season. (Hence why we are covering it.) This was mentioned by Graham and later in conversations with Tony Naar. Graham said the team would arrive in Colorado in 5 December 2012 for the competition which starts on December 10. --LauraHale (talk) 02:38, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Weather reporting[edit]

Beyond the notes and sources, bidgee and I have been here since Monday. It hasn't really snowed here. There appears to be very little snow. You can see the ski runs and see they are not covered in snow. It was cold this morning but it wasn't that cold yesterday when we got in. We were fine with light polar fleece jackets. You could literally see the snow melting. Beyond that, the local mountains are not covered in snow. --LauraHale (talk) 04:28, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
