The "11th son" info is from this page, and the "5th king" info is from Wikipedia. The kings are Ibn Saud, Saud of Saudia Arabia, King Faisal, King Khalid, and King Fahd. And now the new one, of course. --DavidConrad 10:37, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

His Highness King Fahd? _______________________________________

  • Is there any place to appropriately fit this Canadian Broadcasting Company investigative report;

"There is a long and tangled history between the Bush family and the elite of Saudi Arabia." [[1]]into the story? Paulrevere2005 21:45, 1 August 2005 (UTC) _______________________________________[reply]

  • This is a tad off-topic, but hooked to my edits of this page. Are we slated to use American-style spellings and language or British-style spellings and language. For example, would we use "defense" or "defence," or "1 August 2005" or "August 1, 2005." This is a contention we must deal with as this is a global writing community.

Please see this poll --Cspurrier 00:27, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, but this doesn't completely clear it up, as it looks like a straw poll of about 30 people. And if I go by the poll, the story "originates" in Saudi Arabia, so should we assume British English for all stories datelined outside the U.S. regardless of their true dateline? Also this can be quite confusing for editors who are not 100 percent set on a particular style (i.e., I don't know all the nuances of British English)

For the most part we use first writer theory when the story is not set in an English speaking country. --Cspurrier 19:34, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
