OR[edit]

The interview with Archer was performed by Edmund Schluessel. He forwarded me the following notes through an e-mail (parts not used in article exempt):

03 January 2007, 22:43 GMT+0. Discussion with Naomi Archer, liaison of Lakotah Oyate. Phone: +1-828-230-1404.

I identified myself as a Wikimedia contributor as well as administrator for an online group of people interested in Lakotah Oyate.

Ms Archer said that all information in this discussion was for public consumption and can be published online on Wikipedia and elsewhere. She also identified herself as creator of the photos at http://picasaweb.google.com/LakotaFree/ , stated they were available for anyone to use. I asked her specifically about Wikimedia and she agreed to place the photographs under a Creative Commons license.

Ms Archer noted that Lakotah Oyate will be holding a meeting on Saturday and should be putting out a new news release on Monday, with more activity in the news media toward the end of January.

I noted that there seemed to be two groups claiming to represent the indepdendent Lakotah: the Republic of Lakotah and Lakotah Oyate.

Ms Archer stated the following: on 29 December, the Lakota Freedom website was "hijacked" by Russell Means. The Bank of Lakotah and Provisional Government of Lakotah are not supported by Lakotah Oyate; Means is acting without having consulted the other elders of Lakotah; Means is himself, at age 69 [sic], an elder, and "people need their elders to set better examples than that". Lakotah Oyate is trying to recover the site. While the idea of establishing a power company, bank, and other such institutions was an idea that had come from Russell Means and the rest of Lakota Freedom Delegation knew that he was going off from Washington on his own to conduct negotiations, but did not know about what. Lakotah Oyate hopes that this dispute will be resolved in a few weeks because this "all has to be about the people".

The other signers of the withdrawal letter are all still involved. Canupa Gluha Mani (Canupa pronounced soft cf, "CHA-nu-pa") heads the Strong Heart Society which will "probably become the paramilitary force" of Lakotah. The other two signers, Phyllis Young and Garry Rowland, are still involved with Lakotah but are on the sidelines. Would not comment if Means would still be involved.

Lakotah Oyate has also been holding discussions with "about 150" other indigenous organizations in the United States, and mentioned particularly the Hawaiian natives.

As closing remarks, Ms Archer that the legitimate actions of the Lakota people are not determined by one person (referencing Russell Means) or even one group, but by the people themselves; and noted that the positions in this discussion were her positions. The possibility of an interview over the telephone with Canupa Gluha Mani was raised and will be explored. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 23:36, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Map[edit]

Whoever made the map misspelled Colorado. 216.97.165.23 21:34, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The map has been replaced. The black map was inaccurate not only in spelling, but borders, state lines, current tribes...all of which was left out. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 22:09, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Minor correction[edit]

Naomi Archer e-mailed me earlier and says that Pine Ridge may, not will, consider the proposal. She also said that otherwise the article is factually correct. --Stlemur 18:11, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you'll stand by this claim, then why not edit the article and fix it? —Toby Bartels 23:15, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Naomi Archer[edit]

According to several discussions in the forum of Republic of Lakotah, it's Naomi Archer herself who hijacked the organization. That she didn't like it that she wasn't allowed to speak herself at the Declaration in december and collaborated with Duane Martin to oppose Russell Means. A Native American said "How can a white person represent the Lakota?"

Strange thing is that Naomi now claims Russell is not backed by tribal chiefs of Rosebud and so on (like he doesn't know that) but niether is Lakota Oyate. Most federally recognized Chiefs are against away from the USA all together. How can any rightminded Indian trust any of those the US government is willing to recognize? I'd say Mr Means is right! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.162.133.112 (talk) 21:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Interview Russell Means[edit]

Probably it would be a good idea to get his side of the story. People keep trying to change the Russell Means article with unsourced info and I keep telling them get him interviewed so we can include it. I guess if you guys do it we could add a quote and make them happy. 71.163.207.88Carolmooredc {talk}

The collaborators of this site and story Print Lies without simple verification for the Truth.

But when provided with undeniable verified Truth they delete the Lies as if they never happened at all and absolutely refuse to print the Truth no matter how many times it is submitted

Wow quite the SNAFU you all have going on there, I can see nothing has ever changed from the original deceptors(deceptions) throughout time. The difference between truth and lies, the truth can never tell lies, but lies can tell the truth.

With that said I do understand that this site and its collaborators simply refuse to do so.

Naomi Archer was the first web page designer of the very first web page Lakotafreedom.com. She was a entrusted as an admin to this website. To be able to post the site into the the alloted web space for publishing.

Naomi Archer moved this domain from Go Daddy.com to a new hosting site without any express or extended permission to do so, Thus hijacking the site from the other delegates.

On Dec 29, 2008 after contacting Go Daddy, this domain was moved back into the control of the delegates. (Go ahead and enter www.lakotafreedom.com into your browser you will be redirected to the www.republicoflakotah.com.) This would never have happened if infact it was not owned by Russell Means.
