So, where can we see the artwork, huh? :-) --72.38.204.116 06:29, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any sources? website of the shopping mall?.. Zer 20:37, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All notes are my own, I'm the son of the president of VAB; non-profit VAB owns Fridge Front. I discussed the details with the organizers, who I already knew, this is all they could think of. The shopping mall website makes no references to it, as the space is permanent and constantly displaying like exhibits. For sake of disclosure, there are two artists missing from the list, whose names I cannot make out. -- Zanimum 21:34, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

News, huh? How is this anything other than advertising? 202.76.142.198 11:42, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True, but it was a slow news day. I really wouldn't mind if someone published 'My kitten is the cutest thing ever, yes you are' as long as they documented their sources. TRWBW 12:12, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A kitten being cute is not news, because it is a continuous event that had no definitive start. An art exhibit has a definitive start. An art exhibit that involves participation between a non-profit and a relatively highly-regarded (in the area) art high school is local news. Wikinews has no rules against local news, so long as the article itself is provided within a context understandable to people from anywhere, thus why I listed the address of Shoppers World mall, a local landmark that regional papers would assume readers were already aware of. -- Zanimum 14:30, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

notes, contact information[edit]

From Wikinews:Original_reporting

You must be able to provide evidence of everything you include in an original article. Therefore, it is vital that you keep adequate notes, and place your notes on the article's discussion page. Add the Original reporting template ({{original}}) to your story. Include everything you can, including (for example) transcripts of interviews and e-mails.

Ensure you clearly identify yourself on the article's talk page in order for others to know who can verify the evidence. Wikinews is not a peer-reviewed scientific journal, but we would like to be taken seriously, and every bit of authenticity helps. Evidence which is of unknown source is not evidence.

When reporting as a witness of an event, explain briefly in the Original reporting notes section of the Talk subpage (described above) who you are and why you were present, in relation to the event, in addition to the usual features of the story. In this circumstance you are the source, and others may wish to contact you for verification, interview, or for other details.

(I just learned that by reading it 5 minutes ago.) TRWBW 22:20, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you realise this is why Wikinews has so few contributions? I'm Nicholas Moreau, I'm an accredited reporter for Wikinews. I am involved with VAB, the non-profit that runs Fridge Front. I was present because I was helping them install the show. I don't see how this wasn't already evident from my 21:34, 23 September 2006 comment, except for the accredited bit, which is on my profile. -- Zanimum 14:26, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
