Original research[edit]

Laziest OR ever: I clicked on the web link from the Crist campaign to the video and found it had been blocked over copyright. --Killing Vector (talk) 17:21, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LOL!!! And yet it still counts as OR... Benny the mascot (talk) 17:23, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OR? Where? Griffinofwales (talk) 22:11, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, surely this would be {{broadcast report}}, if anything? It's not exactly first-hand, is it ... since anyone can go there and look at it. Tempodivalse [talk] 22:17, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's not radio, TV or live webcast. Anyone can go to a street and look at a car crash there, but a report on it is still OR. It may be weak OR, it possibly shouldn't be OR, but the way we currently have ourselves set up it is OR. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 22:20, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So clicking on the video is OR? A bit extreme. Policy change needed. Griffinofwales (talk) 22:36, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This doesn't qualified for Original reporting. --Diego Grez return fire 22:38, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is - it isn't anything else. So technically it is OR. That said, applying a bit of common sense, I have no objection to taking the template off - but it isn't a broadcast report either. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 10:35, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's the problem. It's a fact that doesn't appear in the other sources, all statements in the article have to be traceable to *some* source... --Killing Vector (talk) 17:50, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
