Sources[edit]

As it stands, until the alleged announcement is made from Spitzer, the NY Times is the ONLY source reporting this. Every other source is quoting the Times. So IMHO, this is simply a single source article. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 18:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there are many other large news agencies that are not quoting The New York Times, but have done their own independent reporting, and have independently spoken with federal investigators and other sources. Cirt - (talk) 23:21, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Governor's web site is down at the moment[edit]

FYI: http://www.ny.gov/governor is down as I write this. A recent archive is at Google Cache. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.163.230.2 (talk) 19:32, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.ny.gov/governor is up as of 10:35pm EDT. 24.26.128.185 02:36, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

involved with, tied to?[edit]

To me the phrases 'involved with' and 'tied to' imply a relationship more than just being a customer. I am a customer of Starbucks but I would deny that I am either involved with or tied to Starbucks. I don't think there is any evidence yet that Spitzer was anything other than a customer, is there? I agree, the text should be changed; that a source ineptly uses sloppy English is no reason for us to.4.234.96.240 04:08, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The terms 'Involved with' and 'tied to' are very broad and weak. They can be used by a cautious author or publisher to indicate that there is some relationship, but that they do not know (or can not prove) what that relationship is. 24.26.128.185 13:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Swallows?[edit]

What's this thing, "See: Spitzer Swallows"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.216.236 (talk) 15:10, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was vandalism that has now been reverted. --Brian McNeil / talk 15:13, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name changed again for this article???[edit]

Please, either change the title of this article to : The New York Times, The Associated Press, ABC News, The Washington Post and CNN alleges governor Eliot Spitzer tied to prostitution ring - or remove this current caveat from the title - it is not just The New York Times anymore, multiple news agencies have done their own independent reporting and have reported on statements from independent sources. Cirt - (talk) 23:02, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done, moved to New York governor Spitzer tied to prostitution ring, we have independent reporting from The New York Times, The Associated Press, ABC News, The Washington Post and CNN, each citing independent sources, and not just citing The New York Times article. Cirt - (talk) 23:07, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are many other news agencies that I didn't cite above that have also done independent reporting on this and have independently spoken with federal investigators, I just don't have time to add that right now to the article. Cirt - (talk) 23:12, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article publish date was March 10, 2008[edit]

Let's keep further developments off of this article, and for a potential follow-up article instead. Cirt - (talk) 04:23, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
