Philippine peso

My browser does not support the character for the Philippine peso which is supposed to look like this . If this is a widespread problem, we should probably replace with "PHP" which is the ISO 4217 code for this currency. --SVTCobra 21:41, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Alas, it is IE, but it is the latest version 7.0.5730.13. Can you see the P character with the lines through it? What browser are you using, if you don't mind me asking. --SVTCobra 22:09, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm also on IE7, and yeah, the symbol shows up fine. I'm thinking perhaps you may not have the right language pack installed? Wikipedia says:

This symbol was added to the Unicode standard in version 3.2 and is assigned U+20B1. Due to the lack of font support, the symbol is often substituted with a simple "P", a P with one horizontal line instead of two (available as the peseta sign, U+20A7, in some fonts), as "PHP", or "PhP".

I just downloaded Firefox and for your information, the character does render, but "PHP" is the safe way to go. But, wow, do I hate Firefox's default fonts. --SVTCobra 22:34, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
