Ok not sure how to do this template source thing, especially when there is a paper edition (more detailed) as well as online Guardian article, and the Finnish article the author is not clearBilllion 21:28, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is unethical[edit]

it is a sad state of affairs if wikinews can publish this article under this headline. the article says reuters misrepresented rossiya and the finnish tabloid didn't bother to check, but the headline says the russian tv `faked' footage. this is primitive anti-russian propaganda. if you want to play journalists, then get yourself a bit of ethic first.

Personally i see nothing unethical about the article, everything seems neutral. Can you point out the text that is against our NPOV policy or "unethical"? Thunderhead - (talk) 09:45, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I improved article a bit, removing "scum" etc, which is not neutral. By the original article many peopple might consider the whole diving was faked, while there's only TV broadcasting was wrong.--83.167.112.224 12:16, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I agree the title is a little misleading. But when I started the article I had just read the story in the print edition of the Guardian, which very much put the story in that light. In the end having looked at all the sources it looks like just some shoddy reporting by Reuters, withe the Russian TV channel maybe slightly to blame for not putting a caption saying "simulation" on the footage of the model. More misunderstanding than conspiracy. But never the less and interesting media story, and I think quite funny.Billlion 08:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed: interesting/funny, Can't get away with anything around here :) -Edbrown05 09:47, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And on the other hand, a weather report doesn't fly either. Fukked up. -Edbrown05 09:57, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe Wikinews is not trying to live up to your standards. Maybe it is just trying to look up to the news, regardless of standards. -Edbrown05 10:07, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
