Okay, see Wikinews:Cite sources, it explains why it is near-mandatory to have two sources. Local reporting can indeed be a reason to only have a single source. In those cases there needs to be some consensus to allow the article. The article you've written would need a lot of changes to be allowable with a single source, you state your source's assertions as fact and don't give any mention of claims that the pipe has not been interfered with.
If you are in the area, or know anyone in the area, is there any way this can be fact-checked? My interpretation of a good single source exception is when you use a single online source - such as a local newspaper or TV station's site. And if you can confirm that a local newspaper ran an independently written report on the same story, or you saw another report on the story, then it's safe.
In any case, as noted the story is one-sided. You're suggesting it is a crime with your title, yet has anyone been prosecuted. Otherwise it is allegations and to meet WN:NPOV you need to say who is making those allegations and any counter - such as settler claims. --Brian McNeil / talk 15:55, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and Ynetnews is closer to NPOV than your version. They at least mention the settlers dispute the allegations. I emphasise that word, Who did they speak to? Who made the claim? If they don't specify you have to attribute it to Ynetnews. --Brian McNeil / talk 17:09, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
