This sentence seems a bit unclear to me. Is it implying that mediawiki always uses MySQL (which is not true i believe, I think it supports Postgress), or just generally does? Bawolff ☺☻ 02:50, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that MySQL is the default, and the preferred, database for MediaWiki. And since Tim Starling just confirmed this for me in IRC, I am now sure that it is the default/preferred DB. —Zachary ^talk 04:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
