POV'ish statement[edit]
I do not like this sentence: "It is unlikely that oil and gas drilling in Alaska will be affected much by the designation." Wikinews should not be drawing such conclusions on its own, and if it is from a source, it should be attributed. It appears in the third paragraph. There are statements from Kempthorne both before and after. Is it his opinion? If so he should be given credit. --SVTCobra 00:38, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's the way the Interior Department made the designation, but I'll attribute it to Kempthorne since he was the one who made the decision and he was the one talking about it. ~Planoneck~ 00:40, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- I hate to bicker, but did he say it or not? The way you replied, it sounds like you almost randomly attributed it to Kempthorne. Also, I kind doubt that the Department of the Interior would use the word "unlikely" in an official designation. --SVTCobra 00:49, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- I searched the sources that you have listed and the closest thing I could find was this sentence in the NYT source: "the Interior Department added stipulations, seldom invoked under the act, that will make it relatively easy for oil and gas exploration and development activities to proceed," the latter half of which seems to be the opinion of the NYT journalist. --SVTCobra 00:59, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
