I interviewed Christoph Bals on the Saturday the Climate Conference ended. In German though, I'm not sure where I can properly note this on the article page (as I think it should be stated that this is a translation). mistakes in article[edit]

I've been sent a mail (some time ago actually) by one of the Germanwatch members (Dr. Gerold Kier) making me aware of some style issues and mistakes that slipped into the english translation of the original german interview. He had made this edit which was reverted as it was over a week after publishing, and there were no reasons given. I therefore reproduce his notes on his changes below (german, I'll translate soon):

Zu den Korrekturen:

  • Für den Klimaschutz-Index haben wir einen eigenen englischen Namen: Climate Change Performance Index.
  • Als absolute Temperatur sind 2 Grad C zwar 35,6 Grad Fahrenheit, aber auf der relativen Skala entsprechen 2 Grad C Temperaturerhöhung nur 3,6 Grad Fahrenheit. Wenn Du Dir auf http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grad_Celsius die

Tabelle "Umrechnung zwischen Temperaturskalen" anschaust, findest Du dort den Faktor 1,8 (pro Grad Celsius).

  • "avoiding the unmanageable" und "managing the unavoidable" sind feststehende Redewendungen in der Klimaszene, die von Schellnhuber eingeführt wurden
  • "working in an NGO like Germanwatch being the only option in that" entspricht m.E. dem Gegenteil dessen, was Christoph gesagt hat (siehe auch deutsche Version), daher müsste hier z.B. das Wort "not" eingefügt werden
  • Wir schreiben das w in Germanwatch nie groß, also bitte GermanWatch.org in germanwatch.org (oder gerne auch Germanwatch.org) ändern.
  • "the wealth of the industrial nations is build" - hier muss grammatikalisch m.E. "built" stehen

Wäre prima, wenn Du das noch ändern könntest. Wenn das nicht geht, ist es auch kein Weltuntergang.
