Date[edit]

Published on Jan 8 with a Jan 9 date. Intentional? --SVTCobra 23:44, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not on my part... best put it back... - Amgine | sw 23:45, 8 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amgine (talkcontribs) [reply]
Was intentional, I published about ten to midnight my timezone - didn't want two WMF stories on the one day. --Brian McNeil / talk 08:39, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Opening para[edit]

What on earth does that opening paragraph have to do with the rest of the story? So someone wrote something that was going to be like Google Suggest with Wikis, I don't see the connection to any of the information from the leaked document. Confusing Manifestation (Say hi!|Stalk me!) 04:00, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The first paragraph related to the original title, and the fact the leak was about donations but the story doesn't end up being about donations. It was almost certainly a journalistic mistake on my part. - Amgine | sw 06:53, 9 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amgine (talkcontribs) [reply]

half of this is publicly known[edit]

A lot of this stuff is public knowladge. The only think new i really see is the collaberative video editing thing, which is way off in the future from the sounds of it. The most intersting part is that it was marked secret, but other then that, it doesn't seem to actually contain any secrets. Bawolff 04:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears Sue sent you the email (according to the email you have posted). How is it leaked? Bawolff 04:55, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not in the recipient or cc list of the original e-mail, which included the attachment pdf. The second e-mail was in response to inquiries. - Amgine | sw 06:51, 9 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amgine (talkcontribs) [reply]

Inspiration for return[edit]

May I ask what inspired you to return to Wikinews after so long, Amgine? While it's great to see our contributor base expanding, your departure seemed so definitively final. -- Zanimum 16:10, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amgine? -- Zanimum 15:59, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Zanimum. I left Wikinews, and all WMF volunteering, when Mr Möeller was elected to the board of trustees, as I did not wish to be in conflict with a member of the board. When he left the board, I no longer felt constrained by this. (Was working yesterday, no time to wiki.) - Amgine | sw 03:42, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mention of metavid[edit]

I hope its oky I added a mention of metavid to the collaborative video section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mdale (talkcontribs) 21:54, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it really doesn't fit as i don't think it has anything to do with the article. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 21:58, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
oky .. I thought it might better contextualize the kaltura proposal / lack of press release by pointing out other work being done in that area that board is well aware of. But removal is fine with me. Mdale —Preceding comment was added at 22:11, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Related news- is it really related?[edit]

Is Former Chief Operating Officer of Wikimedia Foundation is convicted felon sufficiently related to be linked here? I'm having trouble seeing how that one is particularly related beyond just being a prominent story about the Wikimedia Foundation. JoshuaZ 23:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing. This employee was hired and fired before Sue was an employee, and the convicted had no involvement in the site's technology or partnerships. -- Zanimum 15:59, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sue Gardner[edit]

w:Sue Gardner doesnt exist. 121.219.20.106 04:27, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks 121..., indeed, that's true. Removed. -- Zanimum 17:55, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
