Shocking

This story shocks me. I expect British elections to be orderly and efficient: the completely unmechanised system has worked well in the past, yet failed for thousands of voters in 2010.

I dont understand people who are saying it's "Disgusting" and an it's "stealing their rights". Every body knows that polling closes at 10.00pm... so be there before 10pm. If you thing you are going to be late or they may be a que then they was the option of postal voting and proxy voting. Yes the system was flawed and in instances where ballot papers ran out of the electoral roll was not updated was wrong and an investigation should be opened to that but if you are late or not early enough as it may appear, then the voters (or the nearly voters) need to take that into consideration.

You're right, no rights are being "stolen", as there is no transfer of rights going there, but rather a violation of citizen rights.

The election committee needs to be prepared to allow everyone to cast their votes as long as they arrive there on time, and they were unprepared for that. Boy, I wish someone gets severely disciplined for that, or that the election process is declared void and re-run.
