CalendarBot is an account used to maintain the archive categories and pages on the English Wikinews. It is maintained by User:Zachary and written in Perl. It is also running on the Finnish Wikinews.
If you have a task for this bot to do, or you want to have CalendarBot run in another language, leave a message on my talk page.
What does this bot do?
This bot creates the date categories and pages used on the site (examples: Category:October 8, 2011, Wikinews:2011/October/8) This task runs once a month (approx. 2 days before the first day of a month).
This bot also checks other language wikis for Interwiki links for the category pages. What it does is check each wiki to see either if a category exists, or if a non-existing category has articles in it. If either of those are true, the interwiki link is added to the EN category page.
