I am not a fan of editorials. I like to report the facts, but recent events around the world have made me very opinionated recently. So I will attempt to write some.

[edit] Rice to Putin: "You picked missile locations out of a hat"

June 10, 2007

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has told the United States to halt its missile defense plans in Poland and the Czech Republic while the US evaluates the offer from Russia to place the defense system in Azerbaijan.

"It’s necessary for Washington, at a minimum, to freeze the deployment of missile defence elements in Europe for a period of study and negotiations on the Russian proposal," said Lavrov.

Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. Secretary of State swiftly responded by accusing Russia of pulling missile locations out of a hat.

"One does not choose sites for missile defense out of the blue," said Rice in response to Lavrov's comment.

Rally Condi? Here is what you picked out of your hat: I could understand the defense system for Iranian nuclear missiles...when they have one. Lets be honest, if they even get close to having one, we (the US) would likely bomb them before they can get that far.

As for the next one picked out of a hat, a defense system for missiles coming from North Korea. Wrong direction. N. Korea has been shooting them towards Hawaii and the mainland US...not towards Europe or over China. I mean seriously...are these really sensible locations? Did they throw darts at a map? Get Dizzy and fall on a country?

Both of them are nuts.

[edit] Big foot, or big hoax?

May 31, 2006

Recently, farmer and former Buffalo, New York mayorial canidate Hans Mobius, 72 took some pictures.

While scoping out some woods on his rural Clarence, New York horse farm, that he was thinking of clearing, Mr. Mobius took a picture of what he believed to be "big foot."

"I called my friend and said, 'I think I saw Bigfoot.'"

The photograph shows a black, two-legged hairy creature running out from behind a John Deere tractor.

However; Mobius says that his "daughter said, 'you'd better send [the pictures] to somebody.'"

Mobius claimed that he did not set this up and insists that this is not a hoax, at least not one that he planned. "I don't want to come across as a nutcase here. It's the damned craziest thing," said Mobius.

Experts call the incident a hoax.

"It's obviously a man in a suit. Look at the forearms. There's not natural taper at the wrist. It looks like a sleeve transitioning into a glove," said Idaho University professor who studies primatology, evolutionary morphology, paleontology and anatomy, Dr. D. Jeffrey Meldrum.

Meldrum also said that the creatures hair "looks unnatural" and "artificial."

"That raises real questions about the credibility of the photos. Is someone pulling a prank on him? Or is it him having a laugh, just killing time at others' expense?", added Meldrum.

Killing time. Hans Mobius owns the properties at 1109-1121 Elmwood in Buffalo which he is attempting to sell so that a 10 million dollar hotel can be put up in their spots.

All this stunt is, in my opinion, is a move to get more publicity to turn the press away from the fact that he is having his ass sued for violating housing codes for nearly 20 years. He will do anything to see that people are not aware of the true issues and will forget about the hotel. He has nothing better to do but to set up a blantantly obvious hoax? If I were going to claim I saw big foot, and I know I was getting a few million bucks for the properties, then I would definately make an effort to fool the media.
