[edit] Tools I've made to use on Wikinews
During my time here, I've made some things that I hope were positive contributions to the community. Here are a few (or all) of them.
- WN:MA: mediation alerts. Meant to deal with the storm of block requests being posted on WN:AAA during the User:Neutralizer era. Dead/defunct; never took off. That's probably a good thing.
- {{Current}}: a tool linking to the most recent article in a series of articles all relating to the same topic. Partially complete; requires a bot to make the most of it.
- {{Only news}}: a user talk page note that includes a replaceable piece of text for explaining why an edit was deleted or reverted. Nice because I'm tired of typing "you can't put that here, idiot."
- {{Tasks}}: a template for creating a list of things that need to be accomplished on an article before it can be published. Better than tags, in my opinion, because tags take up tons of vertical space and are intimidating.
- {{Ss}} and {{SS}}: A little system for making "short sigs". Basically, when you put three lines of wikicode in your sig, it makes my head hurt. Here's an option to put long sigs in short wikicode.
- User:Iridibot: A sort of helpful bot that sort of does something really rather undefined. But the source is open!
[edit] Sillyness
I've also done some weirder things. :)
- {{WTF}}: when User:TheFearow was creating some awesome tools himself, I created this as sort of a silly joke. But hey, if he doesn't mind, let's hang on to it! As opposed to the typical initialism (WTF), this stands for "Write The Fearow", an instruction to ask him if you don't understand. :)
- {{Support/th}} {{Support/fwn}} {{Oppose/th}} {{Oppose/fwn}}: Cute templates for supporting and opposing, inspired by two votes on my bot's approval request.
