Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin, who qualified first, won the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2010 TUMS Fast Relief 500 held today at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virginia, United States. This became his seventh win of the season.
Mark Martin finished second during the race. He moved several positions at the end of the race, after colliding into the wall earlier in the race. Kevin Harvick was the leader with twenty-nine lap remaining, after which Hamlin became the leader. Harvick was unable to catch him, and fell one position to finish third.
Kyle Busch managed the fourth position in the closing laps of the race, after starting twenty-sixth on the grid. Jimmie Johnson, from the Hendrick Motorsports team, clinched the fifth position, after leading zero laps during the race. Joey Logano followed Johnson in sixth, while Dale Earnhardt, Jr could only manage seventh.
Johnson maintained the Drivers' championship lead with 5,998 points, six points ahead of Hamlin. Manufacturers' сhampionship standings is led by Chevrolet with 236, 42 points ahead of Toyota and 87 ahead of Ford.
