England vs. Algeria in the World Cup 2010[edit]

Another match of Group C was played today between Algeria and England. The match was uneventful and rather dull in most places. However the closing twenty minutes showed many promising moments for England with several kicks at goal, though very few were on target. The atmosphere at the Stadium was amazing with the National Anthems of both countries being sung continually. However, the game ended 0-0 resulting in England's second draw. For England to qualify, they must beat Slovenia

Sarkozy in UK to mark historic de Gaulle war broadcast[edit]

Nicolas Sarkozy visited the UK today to celebrate the 70th anniversary since Charles de Gaulle fled to London in 1940 and made his war broadcast to rally the French against Nazi Germany. The French president and the Prince of Wales have laid wreaths at the statue of Charles de Gaulle in London.

Bomb left outside police station in Northern Ireland[edit]

A viable bomb was left inside a van parked outside a local police station in the small village of Aughnacloy, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland. Army experts carried out a controlled explosion and have been examining the vehicle which was left at about 10:00pm last night local time.
