Me (Seriously, like you care about this) [edit]

I consider Wikinews as sort of "practice" at writing. I'd like to one day be paid to do what I do for Wikinews free. I'm a huge Pittsburgh Sports Fan, mostly Penguins Hockey and Steelers Football. Don't get me wrong, I like baseball. I just hate MLB's salary cap-less format. It creates an unfair advantage. In the real world, that's okay, but in sports, it's gotta' be fair. Anyway, I watch lots of sports, and I've already been accepted to California University (Pennsylvania) and I'm hoping to go into journalism. Preferably sports journalism. So basically, I write WikiSports. I'll also edit sports stuff when I feel it necessary. I love English class, so there you go. There seems to be a severe lack of sports coverage in WikiNews, and I'm more than happy to brush up on my writing skills by contributing. I think the whole Wikimedia thing is doing something right, here. Wikipedia is the juggernaut of the Wiki-Franchise, and don't get me wrong, Wikipedia is awesome, but I'm afraid that I just enjoy Wikinews much, much more. Speaking of Wikipedia, I have a userpage there, it's much more detailed, and you can visit it right here.

Why I like Wikinews. Why I don't like Wikipedia as much [edit]

Uh... I've about given up on doing Wikipedia stuff. There's just not much to be done. There's, like, a bijillion people there to fix every detail the moment it happens. Wikinews is much less crowded. It's very nice, here, actually, and I've taken a liking to the place..

My Wikinews Story [edit]

Breaking.gif

I ended up at Wikinews after sitting in Study Hall, thinking, "I want to be able to write something. Not a lousy blog that nobody will see. I want to write news. I looked around, and what did I find? Wikinews, of course. Being a member of Wikipedia, I knew Wikimedia was a good think, and I noticed Sports coverage was lacking. So, I joined up, and here I am today.
