I have always believed in the power of the written word, through which I hope to convey to the world the life of the Palestinian People, situated in the core of the discussion regarding the Middle East. I see this as my calling.

Without presenting a certain agenda, while steering away from dangerous fundamentalism, striving for neutrality and objectiveness - to become a source for attractive, newsworthy information to the public.

I decided to start writing on Wikinews because I believe in the ideas the Wikimedia Fund stands for, and in the media sharing this venture promotes.

Since I joined Wikinews, I have written dozens of articles in Arabic and English and I continue writing relentlessly.

I am happy to have the chance to contribute to the site and become part of Wikinews' journey in its successful sister Wikipedia's path.

A bold combination of encyclopedia and news site, Wikinews packs the present and concentrates the now across the globe.

"esse est percipi", George Berkeley
In the world of today, the media plays a main role: if you're not there, you do not exist. If you're not in the forest to hear that tree falling, it won't make a sound, and obviously no one is going to tell it to the world. If you're not going to pick up that pen, the paper will remain blank.

In his book "Remembering Our Childhood: How Memory Betrays Us",
the Palestinian-British writer and publicist Karl Sabbagh gave me inspiration, and showed me the historic importance of Wikinews in creating reliable, neutral news documentation.“It’s unnerving to realize that our stories, feelings, memories of the past are reconstructed over time, and that we make up history as we go along”.
