Romanian audiences...

Hey CGorman! Firstly, thanks for restoring the Romania article. Your opinion (and your anger, perhaps) can be justified, all I wanted was a bit of consideration. But, anyway, that's solved now and everything's worked out fine since we now have 2 articles instead of 1, which makes for a better Wikinews! That's the way wiki should work :) I also look forward to working with you in the future (especially since, as I can see from the other comments on your talk page, you're also interested in Economy and Business). Thorpedo

You might notice that I've added a bit more to the title of the article. This was just to make it clear to anyone who doesn't know who Thorp is (!) that it's a swimming championship, and I put the year in as we can only use each title once and who knows, he might miss the next one too... Byline/date

Just a note to say that when a news article has a byline, the location is actually where the reporter who filed the story is. As we're more or less re-writing news from other sources, it's quite unusual for one of us to have actually been 'on the ground' for a news story, so it's best just to use the {{date|April 16, 2005}} template, so we don't mislead readers. European...

I was wondering if you were aware of transclusion? The reason I ask is you seem to be adding the contents of Europe to a number of pages, each of which will now need to be updated for every article. If, on the other hand, you add {{Europe}} to those pages they will have a copy of the Europe page added whenever the page is loaded. (not exactly true, since the cached version might lag a few minutes behind the original Europe page, but we could add a {{refresh}} tag to allow the caches to be easily flushed.)

<chuckles> Yes, I'm find with it. I'm just worried that you won't be able to keep up all those local bureaus. You may wish to hold off on those until we have people working on them. Admin status granted

Congratulations, you have just been made a sysop! You have volunteered for boring housekeeping activities which normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops basically can't do anything: They cannot delete pages arbitarily (only obvious junk like "jklasdfl,öasdf JOSH IS GAY"), they cannot protect pages in an edit war they are involved in, they cannot ban users except in cases of obvious vandalism or excessive edit warring (24-hour "cool down" ban). What they can do is delete junk as it appears, ban vandals, remove pages that have been listed on Deletion requests for more than a week, protect pages when asked to by other members, and help keep the few protected pages there are up to date.

Note that almost everything you can do can be undone, so don't be too worried about making mistakes. You will find more information on Wikinews:Administrators, please take a look before experimenting with your new powers.
