[edit] Welcome
Cigarlover, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!
- Wikinews:Neutral point of view - tell every side to a story in a fair and balanced way
- Wikinews:Cite sources - everything in a Wikinews article must be sourced
Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:
- Wikinews:Introduction - overview of the site
- Wikinews:Writing an article - how to write and publish a complete article
- Wikinews:Content guide - what's suitable for Wikinews
- Wikinews:Contents - the contents page.
There are always things to do on Wikinews:
- Existing articles need expanding and checking for spelling and mistakes
- The front page lead articles often need updating
- Developing stories need finishing and publishing
- Discussions need your input
- Audio Wikinews could always use more contributors
- And of course, stories need writing!
By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!irid:t 14:38, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Just to let you know
I'd love to reformat your stories and work with you. I just have to let you know that I'm at work right at the moment and I can't dedicate a whole lot of time here. I'll get it punched though sporadically during the day. Just keep making articles! :) irid:t 14:42, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
I will thank you Iron --Cigarlover 14:44, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] What do you need help on?

[edit] From Shane.Bell on your User Page

Basically I help where I can :) Goodluck though. shane bell my grammer is horible wording is bad to please help iron sort things out if you have time? --Cigarlover 15:01, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] short articles
hi, thanks for contributing to Wikinews. i would suggest that instead of creating several short articles, it might be better to create a single page compiling several news briefs, we call them Wikinews Shorts. you can create one by following a link from the Start an article box at the top of the main page. also, all articles need sources. –Doldrums(talk) 15:15, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Um...
Cigarlover, what is this? Instead of creating several articles that are very short, and very vague, articles with several sentences and at least one source are much better and much more preferable. When I said "keep making articles", I didn't mean to create article that are nearly indecipherable... irid:t 15:23, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
