Userboxes[edit]

Per my understanding, user boxes are generally frowned upon on Wikinews. Also, if you feel like putting personal opinions on your user page, make sure there is a disclaimer there, saying they are your opinions and not those of Wikinews. MyName 00:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But a user named Divol sed userboxes and i did not see a disclaimer.-Cute 1 4 u 01:15, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox are limited to language for neutrality and calm down some problems. There's no need of disclaimer for language. The same for where you live. Wikinews is not a weblog. Jacques Divol 15:21, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations![edit]

Congratulations on you first published article, Box office breakouts for August 8, 2006! Would you be interested in writing one of these articles every week? —this is messedrocker (talk) 19:26, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is perhaps a "project" here, we have a portal where all the "Culture and entertainment" articles are collected together (yes, it isn't being kept up to date). A once-a-week or once-a-month list of top box office takings could be included in that page. Might remind people to go to the cinema a bit more often too.
I'd also suggest you reword your user page a bit, referencing what level of school you're at might be more appropriate than the term "pre-teen" - even if you are using it to inflate the age people believe you are. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:27, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

News articles[edit]

I noticed that you wrote Lamont Bentley Dies eight months after the event happened. This is discouraged on Wikinews, as news articles are supposed to be written about recent events, and not things in the past (I put the threshold at about 5 days). Please continue to contribute to Wikinews, but only write new articles if they're on recent events. —this is messedrocker (talk) 03:16, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violations[edit]

I noticed that two of the articles you've submitted to Wikinews are copied from other websites. You shouldn't copy news articles from other websites, since it's their writing and only they are allowed to use it. You're allowed to write articles based on other articles (in fact, you should), but copying them word-for-word isn't allowed. If you have any questions about any of this, ask me on my talk page. —this is messedrocker (talk) 04:32, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Breath[edit]

Hi! I like what you've done on Bad Breath Could Indicate Medical Problems. I'm concerned though that the FOX news article you based it on was rather misleading. The actual recent study done (and thus the newsworthy part of it) was a study showing that flossing in addition to brushing could strengthen kid's gums. FOX sort of took this and made an article on something entirely different. I found a more relevant source for you to take a look at. [1]. Hope this helps! Also, if you're really interested, you can probably email the researcher of the study (Walter Bretz) and have him send you a copy of the study to do your own original reporting article on. Much love, --RossKoepkeTalk 05:24, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks and improper comments[edit]

Note that comements such as these are not permitted on Wikinews. Don't personally attack users or groups. --Chiacomo (talk) 04:01, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

box office breakouts[edit]

I think u got something there, liked messes said, if you choose to pursue it. -Edbrown05 06:08, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding US Box Office Breaks Out for August 23, 2006, I was hugely curious how Oliver Stones' World Trade Center would stack up to the competition, so thank you for answering that. I am a little concerned over the headline of the article so closely duplicating the sole source listed for the article's creation. I think a new snappy headline of your creation would be good to go along with this if it is to be reported with regularity, along with providing at least one more source. Best regards -Edbrown05 01:59, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article Spam[edit]

Could you please refrain from putting articles that read like advertisments on Wikinews? Thanks, Thunderhead - (talk) Congrajulations to Kat! 22:35, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No personal attacks please. I have listed you on WN:AAA. Thunderhead - (talk) Congrajulations to Kat! 23:12, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning: personal attacks[edit]

I've noticed you've been making personal attacks to some users. Everyone (including you) has to be polite no matter what happened. Please review Wikinews:ettiquite. Consider this your final warning as Chiacomo has already given you a warning previously. You will be blocked on your next offesnse. Bawolff 00:19, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to see you around more[edit]

Hi there, you have contributed some good work to the site. I would like to see more of you around the site and notice you have been having issues with some other users. I wish to offer some assistance if you need it. Feel free to hit me back on my talk page or email me using the supplied address on my page.
