User talk:DragonFire1024/Story preparation/Wikinews interviews Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Iceland's first openly gay prime minister
Contents |
Background [edit]
- Do you have any background material (in English) about her or her party's platform that we can read? (to help us write questions or prepare the story.) Also her (party's) statements about current issues.
- Where did Johanna and her party fit into last week's public protests?
- Any significant compromises they made as part of the coalition that resigned?

- Honestly, I am not sure about these answers. I will have to research those questions. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 12:17, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Suggested questions [edit]
Do you want question suggestions here on the talk page, or on the article page? --InfantGorilla (talk) 12:01, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Questions can be added to the 'questions' section in the article. In regards to more info on her or her party, maybe try Wikipedia? Here is a link to the page of the office she currently works for (before her appointment) http://eng.felagsmalaraduneyti.is/ I will try and find more. - Wikipedia links: Social Democratic Alliance, Left-Green Movement (her parties I believe) and Progressive Party (opposing party, though they don't oppose her). DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 12:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Just a random note (I can't really think of any questions at the moment). It is interesting how this is a year of firsts. First black president in US, first gay president in Iceland. Hopefully this trend continues. Bawolff ☺☻ 12:52, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Sexuality in title [edit]
The questions posted so far don't dwell too much on her sexuality, which is good. But do you think the article title should be referring to her as the first gay prime minister when we ourselves are asking her if her accomplishments will be overshadowed by her sexuality? The only reason I can think of for doing that is to attract more readers (not a bad idea in itself). ~Planoneck~ 13:35, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
- That's the headliner. It is a great achievement for the gay community, whether in Iceland or around the world. It is still early in the questioning and I just think people are avoiding asking anything about her sexuality altogether. It is not like she is not aware that those questions will exist. Sources [edit]
Given this is an interview, aka OR, I am putting the sources I used in the article section on here.

Status? [edit]
What's the current status of this? The questions were sent in 2009 - did she ever answer them? Is there any point in trying again, or is it time to delete or userfy this? Bencherlite (talk) 08:39, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
