OMM Coverage[edit]

Thanks, If you wanted to follow up on this story, it's almost certain there will be SOME kind of enquiry. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:20, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit removals[edit]

From the discussion that took place, it was seemingly because they were edits to an article older than 24 hours. see here http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Talk:UK_mountain_run_abandoned_as_participants_seek_shelter_from_appalling_conditions,

Please do not take the removal personally, as it was a well intentioned edit , from what I can tell. However Wikinews, tries to focus on active news, and the story concerned was a couple of days old at the time you made your edits. Wikinews being a news service, is not like Wikipedia, in which articles are written for the longer term. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 00:59, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make use of the source you found, you could include some comments on the relevant Wikipedia article ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 01:01, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to explain, if you will. The article you edited was from October 25. You added sources and events/news from October 28. Wikinews likes to see itself as a newspaper and its old editions as an archive of what was known then ... therefore we do not "change yesterday's edition" even if it was wrong (we might put a disclaimer on it) and we do not update articles with more recent events. If new news occurs, we write a new article. Cheers, I hope to see more contributions from you. --SVTCobra 01:11, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
