[edit] Pope

NB: Im giving this message to the 10 or so people I suspect may be on Wikinews when the event occurs.

I've created a story announcing the Popes death - when the Vatican or BBC/Reuters announce he is actually dead please insert the date & time and publish - we will be the 1st news group to break this story (besides our source)! The story is located here User:CGorman/Sandbox. Whilst waiting please improve the story. → CGorman (Talk) 22:49, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WikimediaMention

The {{WikimediaMention}} template has been used in other articles and has generally appeared at the top of the article. I personally feel that disclosure is just as important for Wikinews as for any other news outlet -- perhaps more so. The template I referenced above appears to be the "standard" template and based on my observations, it generally appears at the top. It's certainly "no big deal" -- I was just attempting to follow existing convention. --Chiacomo (talk) 05:22, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. I was just going by what I've seen in other pubs... We're welcome to create new standards here, particularly for openness and disclosure! Sj

[edit] Accreditation

Sorry this has taken so long, to receive Wikinews credentials I need your Location, Areas of coverage and whatever Contact information you want published --Cspurrier 01:15, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

Gotcha :) Leaving them on your talk... Sj 01:47, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
You are now an accredited Wikinews user :). Most user do not include a phone number, just e-mail and IM. --Cspurrier 05:18, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Thank you. Sj 22:00, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] re Wikinews print, and mania

I plan to attend, but I have a few more things I have to work out before I can be 100%. What sort of thing would you like to do about print edition?--Cspurrier 01:44, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about the slow reply, I will definitely be attending Wikimania. If it is not to late, I will be glad to do something on the Wikinews print editon. --Cspurrier 20:20, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
sorry likewise that the daily newslet didn't work out quite as planned. The first day's work was interesting, and shared digitally at least; but the layout didn't get done. I hope that wikinews can field a real delegation next year, with a distributed layout team, and an audio/video mixing team for live podcasts and videocasts. Now *that* would be something noone's ever done well. Sj 09:24, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
