[edit] News versus Encyclopedia

I have reverted this edit because your version is not quite so appropriate for a news piece. News reporting generally uses a more "clipped" style and relies a lot on context to fill in details. So being explicit that it was people who were injured is actually a redundant detail. --Brian McNeil / talk 10:32, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

thanks for taking the time to help the article about bad medications also if i get another chance to write a brief maybe you could also help thanks though. --72.87.61.106 00:34, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Micheal Jackson

I have taken the liberty of Micheal Jackson's speculation, help required in Michael Jackson speculated to have converted to Islam with Thanks Azamishaque (talk) 06:08, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sources

When adding sources to an article, please use this template: *{{source|url=|title=|author=|pub=|date=}}. A clickable version also appears at the bottom of ever page you edit, just below the edit summary. Thanks :-) DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 22:33, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Heh...forgot to also tell you, the source template DOES require the '*' aka bullet at the beginning. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 22:43, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Undo revision 731506 by Tempodivalse (Talk). that didn't work. What did I do wrong here??

You simply forgot to include a bullet point ("*") in front of the {{source}} template. Cheers, --SVTCobra 23:10, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reviews

Howdy, I was just looking over your work. Good to see new contributors around. One minor detail, only 'Editors' (permission) can review articles. I saw that you had reviewed previously, so I figured I'd let you know. This is a technical constraint on how we have our DPL's, flaggedrev, etc setup. Thanks for your understanding. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 00:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Editor

I have promoted you to the Wikinews:Editor class, as I feel you can be trusted to mark revisions of articles as sighted (review). Take a moment to read:

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask for help on my talk page, and thank you for contributing to Wikinews ! --PatrickFlaherty (talk) 23:29, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Abandoned articles

When tagging articles abandoned, please include the date on which you do so as the sole parameter of the {{abandoned}} template. However, an easy way to do this is to add {{subst:aband}} instead. That will automatically add the date for you. Cheers and congrats on the editor status. --SVTCobra 00:13, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sources

When adding sources, please remember to include the year in the 'date' parameter of {{source}}. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:57, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] YouTube experiments with HD videos

Hi, you taged the news as abandoned. I would put a review tag on it, but it's not me to decide it, becuase it's my first real post here, so someone with experience should do that. I started a discussion on the colloboration page, so please feel free to add you proposals there, otherwise I will put a review tag on it tomorrow. greets, --Andreas -horn- Hornig (talk) 14:49, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sighting

Don't forget to sight articles when you publish them. They won't show up on the main page unless you do. Cheers, --SVTCobra 15:19, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Related News

Also, we have a template for adding related news (generally articles wikinews has written in relation to the article). The template uses the same technique as the sources template and should be copy and pasted as follows: *{{wikinews|title=|date=}}. Happy editing :) DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 17:36, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Congrats

for achieving this landmark. I appreciate your help in cleaning the article. --Gppande (talk) 20:10, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Seeking Others

Im Mindy (actual name=Melinda Gabrielle, or MDCCCXLVIII on English Wikipedia). 2008 in review is the first piece I brought up and somehow could anyone help me write the article having neutral points and view?.

Also, Marthaerin1888 is the English Wikipedia name for my sister Martha, and her account, my account and others were blocked indefinitely for meat puppets, shared accounts and sock puppetry (though we seldom vandalize any article whatsoever). But sockpuppets or meatpuppets or shared accounts-even without vandalism (like the 25 shared accounts blocked on English Wikipedia, mine and Martha's included)-ARE frowned upon: having multiple accounts can cause problems oftentimes, as could accounts having multiple editors. You might also wanna help me out about this issue, too.

Please contact my talkpage or userpage. I wanna establish myself here and rebuild my image before I go back to Wikipedia in Autumn 2012 (the most early) or 2023 (latest). How could I avoid copyright infringing?

Mindy (talk) 01:27, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for making the correction in this edit. It was a typo. Anonymous101talk 18:05, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] George Bush proposes economic growth package worth up to US$150 billion

Hey Tempo. I didn't see anywhite space underneath the photo. It might be a browser problem. Cheers --PatrickFlaherty (talk) 04:22, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikinews Shorts: December 6, 2008

If you review "Record jewelery heist in Paris, France" (the short I added) we can publish today's shorts. I have already reviewed your shorts. Cheers, --SVTCobra 02:42, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyediting and other good stuff

Thanks for your continuous help on my started article! Dragonfire has welcomed me so things are looking good. --AzulFish89 (talk) 00:55, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sinebot

As you can see Special:Contributions/SineBot, the bot is running and signing stuff. For various reasons (beyond my understanding), there are things that it misses. This seems to occur more often on comments pages than talk pages; but again I don't know why. Cheers, --SVTCobra 03:01, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] All caps

I noticed you used all caps in your edit summary saying ready for review. Please be aware that the community previously decided that only the word review should be in all caps. Thanks for your understanding, Anonymous101talk 16:55, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry, you can.t be expected to know consensus that was formed months before you arrived. PS: I will try and review the article later, although I currently don't have time. Anonymous101talk 17:02, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Just one other thing, often asking in IRC is a good way to get someone to review your article. Anonymous101talk 17:05, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
