- Transcripts themselves are not news. Transcripts could be welcomed at Wikisource so long as the text is not copyrighted. --Chiacomo (talk) 02:19, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Delete - I agree with the above, and the project doesn't seem to have gotten off the ground yet. Transcripts are most useful when picking quotes to insert into an article - this process can be done via a Talk page instead. Frankie Roberto 11:09, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

No citations added. Also, the authenticity of this article is questionable. If someone as high-profile as Osama Bin Laden had been murdered it would have made headlines world over-no such media reports have surfaced so far.PVJ
07:32, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- We shouldn't always look to other news outlets for verification - it's possible that the very person who murdered Osama has decided to give Wikinews an exclusive interview, and therefore it will be Wikinews that breaks the news to the world (once our intrepid team of reporters confirm the claim by viewing the body, of course). However, this does not appear to be the case with this article, and therefore I vote delete. - Borofkin 08:10, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

After the proposed and bold edits were made, the story became too broad to cover the event that triggered its reporting. Entries will almost definitely violate WN:E and often WN:NOT (theater of war). This page encourages fights to escalate, and just creates nonproductive discussion/flames. Also is violates NPOV(while the NPOV rule does not apply to project pages, this page has the same problems NPOV articles create).--Cspurrier 23:54, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
-
Temporarilyabstain Its not meant to violate wn:e as its supposed to be constructive critisim to try and fix a problem. The first step in figuring out any sort of problem is what is it. It is not meant to be a theater of war, as it isn't you do this, no i don't, style but people keep saying you do this, lets figure out why people have that imppression. Bawolff ☺☻

- Delete. Violates WN:NOT (Wikinews is not a battlefield/theatre of war). Furthermore, The mere development of this page and its contents has concerned me to the point of pondering a Wikibreak. I love Wikinews for the attempt at NPOV, this goes against that goal. I am wondering if I can work with users who support this page, as they seem IMO to put their POV ahead of Wikinews. - Weak Keep. A curious new page with a purpose stated to act dampening conflicts is to be deleted for the sake of fears over a possible future problem in a use of it? What makes this a certainty? It is only as justifiable as a claim that it should not be deleted for the sake of its future potential use in dampening conflict. The future is the future. Fear over one possible outcome is equal in merit to respect for a possible future role in reducing conflict when neither have been demonstrated in any event yet. If in use it descends, put it to the delete then with my full support. Until that happens, how can it be said that the page should be deleted for fear more than kept for respect for future potential? Is there any certain policy that it can be said to be violating in its present state? If not, I will set as advocate of it as forum for the casual discussion type that seems needed for a reason congruent with that for which the page was created by Bawolf-conflict dampening for resolution by casual status. Octavian 03:19, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes Octavian. See comments above. Violates: WN:NOT WN:E. Its purpose IMO is to encite war and was created in anticipation of war. If you have personalissues with someone, then take it out on them and don't use Wikinews for a battleground. Jason Safoutin 19:46, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

- I have not any personal issues as you base your post on response against. My concern is organizational. Your comment has not application at all in that respect DF. You have also not responded to my question of why it should be that one possible future occurrence involving the page-that it might violate those policies somehow-is considered adequate justification to delete the page, when that view has only the same merit as a consideration that it might in the future not violate those policies, and further might instead be used along with them to prevent organizational problems within wikinews. Perhaps I was not clear, but that is the extent of it to me. The comment made by Cspurrier had those references to policy "Entries will almost definitely violate WN:E and often WN:NOT (theater of war)" but speaks of an interpretation of a potential future occurrence-one that has not occurred in the present. Are you stating that the page in its current state somehow also violates those policies? If not, why is it the one possible future is thought so significant as to justify deletion and the other so devalued and relatively ignored as to allow it before either can be? - Unless we've relaxed the rules, copyvios are to be deleted on-sight - we can't afford be caught carrying copy-righted material and threatened with legal action by some news corp, which is the sort of thing they are prone to doing! It's tough on the original poster, but they should not have ignored the plentiful and clear warnings against posting copyvios. Dan100 (Talk) 20:28, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
