User:64.12.116.201/A truer Nagin [edit]
I realize this is in the User name space, but it is in very large parts a 1:1 copy from this copyrighted article dated May 1, 2004. I see no way to get rid of the copyvio and turning it into a usable article. --Deprifry 17:43, September 10, 2005 (UTC)

Template:Editorial [edit]
It is standing Wikinews policy that editorials violate the neutral point of view and are prohibited, and this has been strongly affirmed by the Board as a non-negotiable Wikimedia-wide policy as well. This template even seems to say as much; however, there's no reason to have a template for content which is specifically not allowed to be published in this form. It will only lead to confusion and encourage people to put it on pages in the belief that it is a sort of disclaimer they need when writing editorials.--Eloquence 23:33, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

- Delete and Protect I agree that this should happen. Both delete and protect from ever being created again, at least until a very widespread (possibly a vote across all Wikimedia projects) vote occurs that gains community support for a limited editorial policy. If you want to create your own news website and largely publish Wikinews content, but add in your own editorials, I don't see any problem with that. Or do a slashcode meets MediaWiki website, which would be interesting by itself. --Robert Horning 00:57, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
- Delete and recall this template, and all articles that are deemed "editorial", for they have no place on Wikinews. --Mrmiscellanious 02:17, 10 September 2005 (UTC)

- Keep This was part of a proposal brought to Wikinews and supported greatly. It is not for articles in the main namespace; only for articles in the user namespace, which editorial content is permitted. Please do not delete. -- NGerda 19:05, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Category:United States politics [edit]
This category isn't needed since the same result can be acheived using the DPL with both "category=Politics and conflicts" and "category=United States". The category should also be removed from the one article, which is currently protected. —Moverton 04:55, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

- Delete. Strongly POV, factually inaccurate (most relatively neutral surveys favoured Schröder, also Merkel's speech has repeatedly been critized for being very similar to one by former US president Reagan) -- pro-CDU propaganda at best. w:Ashmodai 04:51, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

LA Senator Claims Bush Staged Photo Op [edit]
In response to all the mindless clucking: Hahaha... Yeah, all this IP banning sure is working... (not even slowing us down) The sad thing is, there was a non-technical solution in the first place... The right-wing extremist Mr. Misc/EdBrown should have just been polite when he first approached us instead of launching unprovoked insults/mindless commentary from the beginning. There are 2 things you folks can't seem to cope with... the FACT that there were people that actually did support us... yep, real people... (I'm sure that hurts your little egos) and the FACT that Mr. Miss/EdBrown attacked us unprovoked. Sorry if the truth hurts but anyone can look at the history page and clearly see this. BTW, We've already been back and contributing right under Mr. Misc's nose (It's amazing how often mean people are also complete idiots at the same time). So... How to really prevent all this again? Simple. Be polite to "newcomers" and have the guts to "call out" each other in your little club when you see unprovoked rudeness launched on others. You know, show some character. All this quoting, clucking and squawking below is truly a waste of your time. Put all that effort into character building instead. Mr. Misc/EdBrown... as far as you go... don't bother... you have no character to build upon... just crawl back into your dark hole. - Cow 63.165.31.14 17:18, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
Senator Landrieu comments are contained on two Wikinews stories: Senator Landrieu accuses President Bush of staging photo-ops amidst New Orleans tragedy and Tempers flare over New Orleans tragedy -Edbrown05 08:03, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Keep, This was the first article to have that story. Also, if someone would bother to unlock it, there is consensus to develop and publish the article. -Cowicide 68.3.52.158 08:39, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Delete. The content is already much better incorporated here. And make sure you get rid of the corresponding talk page as well, because that one is even worse than the article. --Deprifry 10:23, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
- Delete, because no one wanted to improve it. --Mrmiscellanious 10:29, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Delete. Story could have developed into a good story, and it did, shame it had to be as a separate story. Also please remember users who are not logged in, votes will not be counted, so please create a user account before you vote --Cspurrier 11:58, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Userfy by moving to User:Ardonik/Photo op talk page (or whatever) and deleting the original redirect. I'd like to preserve the history and its diffs in case they are needed in the future. We should probably protect the userfied article to prevent cowicide and his sockpuppets and meatpuppets from disrupting it any further. --Ardonik.talk(*) 15:09, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

- Keep The aforementioned article [1]as nothing to do with this article. Whether the senators claims have merit, they deserve to be reported. comments by User:Sputnik3 --Deprifry 12:31, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
- In fact it does. You should read the fourth paragraph, which focuses entirely on her remarks. And then there is also Senator Landrieu accuses President Bush of staging photo-ops amidst New Orleans tragedy, which as the title suggests, deals in detail with her claims. --Deprifry 12:31, September 6, 2005 (UTC)

- Delete. Superseded by Allegations President Bush staged photo-ops in aftermath of Hurricane Katrina tragedy. Userfy the talk page if you like, but I don't care about it.
- Delete This story has been superseded. I am still not happy even with the replacement, but at least it shows signs of decent authorship, with most of the best development happening after it was published. Sticking around clogging the developing story area for something that is protected makes no sense anyway. --Robert Horning 07:05, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
