Wikinews:Mission statement/short

Warning: this is a draft. It is not approved by anyone, and proably doesn't represent the opinions of the comunity. It is an atempt at making a more useful mission statement, that says what we're about and not much else. Something we can (hopefully) all agree on.

Absolute short and long term goals

• be neutral and unbiased
• be read
  • or more to the point be beneficial to someone in someway to make the whole thing worth while
• Have news (ala WN:NOT, and similiar pages)

short term goals

• Have current news

Long term goals

• Have timeless news (Stuff like Interviews, OR, and possible Columns)
  • Stuff that distinguishes us from the crowd
• Go into new medias
  • Wikinews:Audio, Wikinews:Broadcast, Wikinews:Print edition, (whatever the page for WNN was), etc
• Become more big by going into more local news, and be like everyones local newspaper (ala portals) [Note: This may not be agreed upon by everyone]
