Wikinews:Admin action alerts
Alerts | Requests |
Requesting a block? Wikinews:Blocking policy states that administrators may block users who "excessively and consistently break site policy. Admins should only do this as a last resort - efforts to educate must be made first, followed by warnings." Admins can not and will not block unless this policy is followed. Please do not raise an alert here unless efforts to educate the user have been made, and warnings have been given. If you have an ongoing problem with another user, you should consider Wikinews:Dispute resolution. |

Consider local block for 173.76.102.69[edit]
173.76.102.69 (talk · contribs · page moves · block user · block log)
The IP account is currently globally blocked for cross-wiki abuse, including at en.Wikinews.[1] Given the history of abuse here, a local, long-term, anon-only block might be beneficial. Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 16:11, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Please look into this IP, Thank you. @Michael.C.Wright BigKrow (talk) 18:45, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- This has been discussed 4 times recently. What is the user supposed to do about it, and also, what point is there in a fifth alert about this. Problem is we have no admins active in the past week or so.@BigKrow:Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 20:05, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
@Me Da Wikipedian: Just a reminder don't come across as stubborn, thanks otherwise. BigKrow (talk) 22:42, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- I personally like to keep a record of each case of vandalism, including links to diffs. This way we have a clear record of vandalism documented. Keeping it all in a central location, such as this thread; Wikinews:Admin_action_alerts#Vandalism_from_IP:199.212.250.163 makes it easier for an active admin to see how extensive the history is. I'm trying to get a long-term block for the entire IP range, as other wiki projects have done for this long-term-abuser. That will be easier if we have a long, documented history recorded.
