This is insane. Charging him for following the orders of a defective sat/nav (GPS) device. I'd think he has good reason for a law suit against the manufacturer!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jack Alexander (talkcontribs)

It wouldn't have been a hard conviction to get. Not only did he drive into a fence at the end, but he admitted that following the device made him an 'idiot'. If you are ignoring the road, then you shouldn't be on it. I'd have also charged him with criminal damage which he recklessly caused to the fence; or, were it undamaged, of recklessly putting the fence at high risk of damage. Too bad its not America, otherwise the guy can turn around and sue the sat/nave device manufacturer for massive amounts of cash.
Why satnavs usually tell you that you need to engage common sense as well, in the UK (I hope) they would be laughed out of court for being idiots and rightfully so!--86.15.153.179 (talk) 13:25, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He wasn't driving safely if he struck a fence, so he should be fined. How the hell would you end up there if you were paying due care and attention to the roads--86.15.153.179 (talk) 13:25, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

mislead by satnav[edit]
