Put like that, being from Newcastle i rather think i would prefer to be Scottish too! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.39.25.58 (talkcontribs) 08:41, 20 January 2009

You cant blame Berwick,My partners from Newcastle, and I was unfortunate to be born in Bradford even though my ancestors were from the scottish borders. I feel all towns inthe north of England should be balloted as to whether they would rather come under Scottish control, the westminster government just looks after there south east mates. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.2.12.180 (talkcontribs) 17:33, 13 December 2010

So, people in an English town want to be governed by Scotland?! WHY? --- It’s presumably because there's a perceived financial benefit to those people from Berwick and it’s quite ludicrous to claim that it has anything at all to do with history. --- If Berwick were released, would the Scotland/England borders have to be moved too? --- Perhaps all the way, just South of Brighton as more towns might want to join such a brilliant move! This is either good old British humour ... or a scientific study ought to be undertaken urgently into the psychological wellbeing of the people around Berwick. --- Just so you know - I am NOT British!
