Brings back memories[edit]

Well not for me because I wasn't born yet...but Americans should use this event to remember the downing of Iranian air Flight 655 shot down by a U.S navy vessel that was patrolling in the Indian Ocean in 1988. During the almost surely planned event, Navy commander David Carlson, who was watching from a nearby vessel, wrote that he "wondered aloud in disbelief" as he observed the downing of the aircraft that killed 290 people including 66 children. Sorry, but apart from them both being Iranian there is no link whatsoever between these two accidents. I also doubt it was planned. The U.S. most certaily shoulders the blame, but there is no motive for the shootdown to constitute murders. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 13:31, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I never said that these two incidents were linked, I was just saying that this is a good time to maybe reflect on atrocities carried out by our government. Soapy (talk) 21:02, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Investigation concluded very quickly?[edit]

The incident occurred at the end of July, it's now only the beginning of August. Don't these investigations usually take _years_? Not just two weeks. Also, 4200 hours is a lot of time to put in -- in just two weeks. 66.159.127.84 (talk) 19:53, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
