Public alternatives that day existed
[edit]With how many BBC channels, it's not like there's a lack of public alternatives. Add to that the private stations... -- Zanimum - (talk) 18:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Unless of course you live out here in the sticks. We've got BBC1, BBC2, ITV and CH4. A small minority of households in my village can get CH5 and freeview boxes don't work here. No one in my house remotely likes the kind of sport that the BBC broadcasts so at times like this our set remains OFF. Shane.Bell - (talk) 10:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Only 11.5 hours of sports on BBC on a Saturday?
The CBC does 14 hours of Hockey Day in Canada annually (albeit with a 30-minute break for news) and that's never amounted to anything close to a headline here on Wikinews.
- American stations air sports almost all day on Saturdays. Maybe not as long as 11 hours but somewhere between six and eight. It's not that bad, and just don't watch it if it annoys you. TheCustomOfLife - (talk) 21:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
