Description
English: Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Satellite True Color Images of the Great Lakes, Image: Lake Erie on February 7, 2009 at 18:20 (GMT). On this day, 134 people became stranded on an 8 mile long ice slab which broke off from the main frozen portion of the lake. One person died as he was being airlifted to a hospital. Everyone else was rescued.
