 | Aside from the claim that this image qualifies for use without permission under Wikinews' Fair Use policy, this image is also available under a license that permits unlimited redistribution and modification but only allows use for non-commercial purposes. Images licensed under such terms do not meet the definition of Free Cultural Works as adopted by the Wikimedia Foundation, and are therefore considered non-free on Wikinews This tag MUST be used with a valid fair use tag and a valid fair use rationale or the image WILL be deleted. If a freely-licensed alternative can be reasonably created or this image is of a living person, it may NOT be used under our fair use policies and will be deleted. |

Satellite image of Warwick High School in Pennsylvania created with EarthExplorer from the USGS in 2008. EarthExplore relies on Google Earth and the terms of use state it is permitted to "publicly display Content with proper attribution online, in video, and in print", however, it is prohibited to "redistribute or sell any part of Google Maps/Google Earth or create a new product or service" which comes very close to a CC-BY-NC license. The terms of service also acknowledge "fair-use" is a legitimate reason to use the content. US law has historically heavily favored "fair-use" when it comes to educational and news purposes. |
